Western New York

For owners who care what happens next.

WNY Operators Group buys, owns, and operates strong small businesses for the long term. We are not brokers. We are not flippers. We are local operators who want to talk directly with the people who built what they are selling.

Let's be clear

We are not business brokers.

We are owners and operators looking to buy, own, and grow strong small businesses for the long term.

We prefer to speak directly with current owners because no one knows more about the real condition, character, team, and opportunity inside a business than the person who built it.

Why owners talk to us

We care about the same things you do.

Continuity matters.

We are not here to strip a business down and sell the parts. We want to keep what works, protect what was built, and carry it forward the right way.

The team matters.

The people who show up every day are what make a service business run. We plan to keep them, respect them, and invest in them.

Reputation matters.

A business's reputation in the community is one of its most valuable assets. We take that seriously from day one.

Thoughtful improvement matters.

We look for businesses where better systems, smarter technology, and sharper customer touchpoints can create real, lasting value without disrupting what already works.

Who we are

Operators first. Owners always.

Steve Kiernan and Chad Zingler are Western New York operators with deep backgrounds in building, growing, and running businesses. Steve founded and scaled Pointman, a field-service SaaS platform serving nearly 1,500 HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors across the US and Canada, which was acquired by ServiceTitan. He currently co-owns The Forge, a gym he purchased, relocated, and rebranded in Clarence, NY.

Chad has spent his career building revenue and partnership programs for growing companies, most recently as VP of Strategic Partnerships at RevSpring. He is also the founder of Fluttering Wings Foundation, a nonprofit rooted in the Buffalo-Niagara community.

How we help

How we carry businesses forward.

Customer and prospect touchpoints

We improve how businesses communicate with and follow up on customers and prospects, so fewer opportunities fall through the cracks.

Better technology in operations

We have deep experience implementing field service software, CRM systems, and operational tools that make service businesses run more smoothly.

Offers, packaging, and pricing

We look at how services are packaged and priced and find ways to improve revenue without compromising quality or customer trust.

Team continuity and support

We work with the existing team, not around them. The people who know the business best are an asset we intend to keep.

How it works

Simple. Straightforward. No pressure.

01

Confidential introduction

You reach out. We have a private, no-pressure conversation. Nothing is shared, listed, or broadcast. It is just a conversation between people.

02

Learn about the business and mutual fit

We take time to understand your business, your team, your customers, and what matters to you in a transition. We share how we think and what we would do.

03

Explore a practical path forward

If there is a fit, we work together on a deal structure that makes sense for you, your team, and the business. We can consider a range of structures, including seller alignment where that is helpful.

Serious buyers

We are actively evaluating acquisitions.

We have long-established capital relationships and SBA lending relationships in place. We are not exploring the idea of buying a business. We are doing it.

We can consider practical deal structures, including seller equity participation where that is a good fit for both sides. If you are thinking about what comes next for your business, we are worth a conversation.

Thinking about what comes next for your business?

You do not need to have everything figured out to start a conversation. Reach out and we will listen. No pressure. No obligation. Just two operators who want to understand what you have built.
